  8. of Accounting, PO/Inventory, Job Costing, and Job Shop Scheduling applications
  9. for small- to medium-sized businesses. Applications are written with a
  10. fourth-generation database that permits a high degree of user control

  12. The Job Shop Scheduling system consists of Estimating, Scheduling, and Costing
  13. modules, and is designed to enable on-time completion of work orders based on
  14. actual variable capacity. Scheduling calculates the start date needed to meet
  15. customer specified due date (reverse schedule). Will also forward schedule from
  16. the start date giving actual completion date. Capacity files are maintained per
  17. machine based on 0-24 hours of capacity per day. Supports multiple priority
  18. calculations controlled by user. Costing module updates work order history file
  19. with time ticket information to allow reporting of estimated vs. actual costs.
  20. Estimating module calculates work order cost, eliminating manual arithmetic
  21. errors, and allows the use of a previous estimate as an example. Work orders
  22. originating from estimating can be moved into scheduling without reentry, and
  23. updated for desired production quantity and due date.
